My Baby

by Ashli   Jul 15, 2005

I held you in my arms
I looked at your angel face
The love I felt inside that day
no one could replace

I kissed you on the forehead
sobbed, and held you near
Right away you were my baby angel
You became everything I held dear

Now you're all grown up
and I'm trying not to cry
I watch you walk across that stage
get your H.S. diploma, and say your goodbyes

After the graduation, I held you in my arms
When I looked at you, an angel is all I could see
But no matter where you go in life,
My baby is what you'll always be.

Sounds like a loving mother...lovely...really captured the emotion from her perspective...and I like how you fit angel into this one too. :)

I loved this poem. I'm guessing you wrote this from your mothers perspective, because your only 16. It was very well written though. Keep it up xX

A very sweet poem. But aren't you only 16? lol, maybe you were writing from your mother's perspective? Or a relative who has a child who graduated?

I'm not going to bother guessing, I just know it's a very nice poem.
