Goodbyes

A rose petal falls upon the floor,
She walks in slamming the door.

Just another day in her small life,
She was supposed to end up being his wife.

And things just haven’t been the same,
He’s the only one there is to blame.

He gave her a dozen roses that day,
But it was the same day he told her that he was going away.

It was in the best interest for “them”,
But that just made her heart beat come to an end.

He was trying to pursue his career,
Just leaving her with a heartbreak, and full of fear.

So much for their life together,
He was leaving her today, forever.

So she said her goodbyes,
And walked out of his life with tears in her eyes.

    awww this one is so sweet...i love how the idea progresses til the last stanza and that just ends it perfectly. great idea to write about and good word choice, i could feel the emotion in it. take care
