Gentle Kiss

by Timothy   Jul 19, 2005

It's a constant barrage,
It's our life flashing by, in some sick, twisted montage;
A series of stupidities, uttered in secession,
In a perpetual, living-dark depression.

We were once so in love, and nothing could come between us,
But now, what thrives is the meanness;
Two strangers dwelling in---what can not even be called a home,
Two people living together...but utterly alone.

Words are weapons, there is no doubt,
The heart can be pierced with a hateful shout;
The hissing of the mouth can be a mindless remiss,
But those same lips can repair so much...with a gentle kiss.

    I really enjoyed this, you obviously have much experience in these matters and it comes off very clearly in this piece. The rhyming was not needed here because I think it would have been effective without it, but because it rhymes it adds something extra to the poem. Nice work all round.

    words can truly hurt...and what can come out of our lips can either heal or wound... isn't that amazing? You did a great job .
