Inside my Mind

If you look deep inside my mind
You will be frightened of what you find
A darkness that will soon consume my soul
Some thing that I can’t control

There was a voice in my head that stood as my defender
But now it’s faded to a distant whisper
This struggle for my soul I fear that I have lost
And it has left my heart covered in frost

There are days I wish things could just be Ok
And this game for my soul I would’t have to play
But the fact is there’s only darkness for me
This is not the person I wanted to be

There are things I have witnessed that have tore at my heart
They are the thing that have caused my life to fall apart
When the time comes and the darkness wins
I pray to the lord he’ll forgive my sins
