He Kissed Me Goodnight!

I slowly shut the door,
And hugged myself tight.
I ran up the stairs,
He kissed me good night!

I jumped on my bed,
And smiled in delight.

I tried to fall asleep,
Oh how I put up a fight.
I can’t possibly sleep,
When he kissed me goodnight!

My head lay against my pillow,
And my dreams took flight.
Replaying the moment,
When he kissed me goodnight.

The clock chimed midnight,
And the sun was still bright.
I can still feel his warmth
When he kissed me good night!
