Fame

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Aug 3, 2005

A dream, a wish
A thought, a sin
Not quite the state
That you want to be in
No words can explain
What it is to know fame
It's an odd feeling
When everyone knows your name
It's pretty intense
When the ice is thin
Like a candle, you'll burn bright
Just don't glow dim
Disappiontment, expectation
Broken promises, words of shame
These are the prices
You pay with fame
Caught like a bird
In an easterly wind
But when your wings fail to fly
It'll come to an end
It spreads like a fire
One you can not tame
And when it's over
Nothing is ever the same
You can't go back
To the life you had back then
Fame is a game
And you can't ever win
Once you know it
It will forever call your name
But that's just how it is
When you live with fame.

Ooo! Very original poem! Congrats on that. =) I liked the flow a lot, and it didn't seem it was too cramped. Good job! Keep it up! =) 5/5 xoxo

This wasn't your best...I loved the other one I commented on.. and to save your perfect 5.0 I won't rate it, for I'll be honest and I"d give it a 4. But hey, it was interesitng, just not my topic or flow to me...But keep it up, you're a great writer.

Never read a poem abut the downside of fame. Maybe I should send this to one of my friends who's convinced herself that I would be famous.

I liked the flow and everything was just amazing from start to finish. Especially since it was unique as I've yet to find a poem about the subject before.
