The Best Sister I Had

by [п]єєснап*томι   Aug 4, 2005

We used to have fun together,
Play until it was way past dark.
You promised to watch over me forever,
The way an older sister should.

I was lucky to have you near me,
You always made me laugh.
When nothing made sense, you made me see,
You were the true sister Mom wanted you to be.

When we got older you stood close by,
Keeping an eye out for when I was in trouble.
You were always there when I start to cry,
You're like my own personal guardian angel.

As the years pass by and we grow with age,
No matter what the circumstances, you still guided me.
Our lives change and grow as we turn each page,
But for every day that passes by, you remained the same.

I loved you and I still do,
But I still can't forget that day.
I still can't believe its true,
But I still remember like it was yesterday.

I had recieved a phone call from your daughter, my niece,
I had thought it was another regular phone call.
I was proved wrong, when she started to cry; you were the missing piece.
She stammered into the phone, hardly able to speak.

She tried her best to talk me,
She tried although it pained her so.
Without spoken words I could already see,
But I didn't want to believe.

I couldn't believe it was true, I didn't want it to be true,
But she managed to say it before my tears pour out.
Why did it have to be you?
She said you had past away when your plane crashed.

I was left stunned and speechless,
All I had left was you and now you're gone,
But I had to be strong.
With out you I think my life is a mess,
But I know you'll continue to watch over us.

I had to be strong for the sake of my family, and for the sake of yours,
But just so you know, I loved you then, I love you now, And I'll love you till the day I die. You're the best sister a girl can have.

** I don't think the ending came out the way I wanted but I hope you like it anyways
