Through a child's eye

by FELTON PHILLIPS   Aug 6, 2005

Seeing through a child's eye
how great and wonderful am i
towering upward oh so high
as if my head could touch the sky
no goblins or ghost to be found
least not when i am around

seeing through a child's eye
how great and wonderful am i
there is nothing i cannot do
fly a kite, ride a bike, or tie a shoe
there is nothing i do not know
who made the birds fly and the trees to grow

seeing through a child's eye
how great and wonderful am i
always so big and strong
always there to right a wrong
making sure it is always safe
wiping tears from a little face

there is nothing i would not do
to stay in my child's view
to hear the words that ring so true
"you know what daddy, I Love You".

Look at a child, and you see God.They are pure, true, honest. And to them parent is all good, if not God, someone as close as Him.Looking up to you, asking, seeking their answers and comfort. This poem is truly wonderful. To mirror yourself and penning down taking the place of your child is fantastic.Great poem!
