Some things I've left unsaid

by Kalika   Aug 8, 2005

Tears pouring down my face,
Your soothing voice in my ear.
It almost makes me believe what you say.
You almost take away the fear.

I’m worried almost constantly,
You never leave my mind.
But I can never understand just how,
You can be so blind.

Tonight I meant to offer advice,
Show you that I care,
But nothing goes quite like it should,
Now all we’re feeling is despair.

I meant to say “I love you”,
And “I will never leave your side”
“Forever, I shall love you,
Even long after I’ve died.”

But instead, I just got upset,
And told you to go away.
I don’t understand why I can’t tell you.
The things you need me to say.

I care about you more than anything.
Without you I couldn’t go on.
You’re the only thing keeping me going.
You’re the one I rely upon.

I just want to let you know,
You can always rely on me.
I will be here for you, whenever,
It is my solemn guarantee.

So even though I can’t make things better,
Can’t take away your pain.
I hope that I can help guide you through,
The unstoppable rain.

I will try to tell you also,
All the things I’ve left unsaid.
So I will try my best,
To tell you my true feelings instead.

Reading this brought tears to my eyes. It is a stunningly beautiful poem, poignant and skillfully written. It also has good flow and pleasant rhyming.

Also, it is one of the very few poems in which the language usage is 100% accurate. It is something on which I personally place high importance. Judging from your writing, you do also.

    This poem is truly outstanding.
