Storm of pain

It is pouring down
it is the rain
it is pouring on me
a storm of pain

stop this rain
falling from above
why cant it be roses
falling for love

happiness is right there
staring me in the face
i reach out to grab it
but pain takes its place

it has now gone
drifting away
as i just watch
'come back' i softly say

come back please
fill me, complete me,
but the rain is pouring
making happiness impossible to see

it has gone now
drifted into thin air
pain is now all i can see
it is all that is ever there
