Last Goodbye

*I forgot who originally posted this poem, but I revised it for my life*

Her eyes crusty with dried tears,
Her cheeks red with anger,
Her wrists stained with drawn blood,
Her face pale with fear,
Her brain telling her to do it,
She stops,
lays back,
And stares into the empty darkness,
Shadows hunched in the corner,
The music slowly dies,
only left the ticking clock
And a sudden burst of laughter
coming from the walls
her family downstairs
having fun watching tv
never knowing if they came up
the horror that they'd see
she closes her eyes
sees images from her forgotten past.
friends and family,
Images of fun, smiles, love.
all the things she tried to remember
to stop her from her death.
but as she closed her eyes,
they turned in to yelling, arguments, tears.
depression and disappointment
that followed her through those years
Leaving her unwanted memories,
She sits up, her face now wet with tears
She looks out the window,
Prays on the stars,
Begging fro forgiveness,
trying to find the answers to her depression
who is she really?
is she trapped forever?
what will become of her in the future?
waiting in silence for replies
she sheds her last tear
but no voice could be heard
she sees that no one cares
she writes her suicide letter
saying goodbyes to the one she loved,
to the people she cared for
her family and friends
thinking of them one last time
she wishes them luck for the future
praying they won't end up like her
and with that done she brings the knife to her wrists
and cuts herself once more,
sitting there in misery once again
because she couldn't see the good,
her life came to an end.
