Clear

by Clark Jacobs   Aug 28, 2005

The switch is on
But the light is off
The pantry open
But the shelves empty

My mind is open
But nobody enters
Clouded perception of life
Depicted by life's inventors

The music is playing
But the noise gone
The tank full
But the car is still

My heart is open
But nobody comes in
For once it seems right
An illusion wearing thin

The words come out
But theres no meaning
The facts are stated
But they're just fiction

My eyes are open
But nobody arrives
The vacancy here to stay
It easily thrives

The triggers pulled
But nothing fired
The pedals moved
But the wheels calm

My life is open
But nobody's here
Its okay though
Now it seems clear
