A Field Full of Wishes

by Katie   Sep 2, 2005

A field full of grass, nothing in sight.
Such peace and serenity as she awaits the night.
A beautiful day for picking flowers.
Just wishing away the hours.

He loves me, he loves me not.
The sun went down, and the flowers for her mom, she forgot.
She knew she was late but the sky was filled with stars.
She was going to sit and wish away for him no matter how near or far.

Together forever was all she ever wanted.
The nightmares of that never being has forever haunted.
Too scared to cry, too scared to take a step ahead.
Its time to go home now, a voice in her brain quickly said.

Slowly walking back home she remembered the day.
The day they met and the way she prayed.
Every night she'd go to the field and wish on each star.
Always trying to stay positive, although this is how things really are.

She's broken and alone with no one by her side.
To hold it all in, to keep it all to herself, she continuously tried.
Nothing went left unsaid however, for she bumped into him one afternoon.
The look in his eyes just sent her straight to the moon.

They love each other no matter what and forever became two.
They may be a couple now, but the love they had was nothing new.
It grew stronger and it grew great.
They are now forever and always each others soul mate.
