Tradgic Heartache

Why does love make a fool of me?
Just to give myself out,
To the next person I see?

The next person I meet,
Who whispers sweet nothings,
As my heart skipped a beat?

A dashing young man to steal me away,
Take my heart out of my chest,
And leave me astray?

Who tells me he loves me,
Takes of my own fruit,
To leave me with nothing, and laugh with such glee?

Slip out of my skin,
Gasping for air,
Terrified for this last and final sin,

As he teases and torments,
Giving all he wished to give,
You would think I would give up, if I had any sense!

Those daring crystal eyes,
Shining white teeth,
Should have seen this coming, his mouth full of lies

I love you so much,
He told me so many times,
I love you too I should have said ........ As I threw one swift punch!

Aggh!! Why does love have to make a fool of me?
Just to give myself out,
To a loser who...... does not....... love.....me?

    So true - I thought the rhyming pattern/structure of the poem worked so well . . it really gave the poem a great flow. I can relate to this poem - and it always makes the poem about ten times better when you can, thing is, I don't think this poem could get any better - yet alone by ten times!!
