Silver Shadow

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Sep 17, 2005

The sound of metal against the floor echoes in the room.
The chains cling on every step forced to climb.
Alert, I cautiously approach the door.
Afraid of what is to come, I hold my breath.

Slowly, I turn the knob, cold against my hands.
Standing before me, a silver shadow stares.
Looking into its eyes, empty black spots.
Chains surround his feet, prisoner within them.

I extend my hand to him, yet touch nothing.
Shivers run down my spine as I realize his identity.
Trapped by his past, condemned to live in darkness.
Chained by his past, eternally searching for freedom.
