Spoken Deception

by Jemma   Sep 21, 2005

Unspeakable
Undecided
Lost in words
Just an animation
This life

Lies wreaking havoc
Truths getting old
Lives getting weaker
People crying

Tears of salty vengeance
Despairs from ancient hurts
Laughs from tyrants
Crushing hopes and dreams

Flicker like a candle
One life in
One life out
Too many, too quickly

Powers are shifting
One direction of flow
Only one way system
Stuck in the middle

No one knows to fight
No one knows to live
Death is streaking the sky
As life cowers

Promises, oaths, all broken
Vows of love and friendship
Sold for hate and gain
Lost your soul

Searching the smoke
Dense turrets of steam
Darkened clouds
Darkened day

Only a scream can pierce the thick silence
Old tongues find there voice
The words are not easy but need to be said
Too much silence, struck dumb again

That is incredible! You have true talent and you described these things so well! I loved the whole poem! These few lines stood out to me:

    "Flicker like a candle
    One life in
    One life out
    Too many, too quickly"

You used great description of life and what it holds. It is unimaginable the depth of your thoughts and feelings. A truly breath-taking poem!
