What if God was deaf?

What if God was deaf?
And we send him all our prayers,
But he can’t hear any of them,
All he can do is sit and watch us
Pleading, begging, thanking,
But he never knew what for.

He watched the pain and the misery and heartache,
Wishing someone would do something
And was never told it was him.
Him that could change things,
Make them better,
Make the world a safe place to live.

And after all this time,
The hatred and war
Has become so much a part of our society,
He no longer wishes to change
Such old customs and ways of life.

He can’t be blamed,
For the sins that are ours,
For not changing things,
When we are the ones that understand,
But the ones who do nothing.
