Wanderer

by JL   Sep 25, 2005

Over rolling hills
and mountainous terrains
walks the wanderer
through sunshine, snow, or rain

Sweet, sweet wanderer
why do you wander so?
Whenever your heart is content,
your feet want to go

through rambling forests
and streets with no names
the wanderer continues
never knowing from whence she came

Sweet, sweet wanderer
why do you wander so?
is there some driving force
that we will never know?

Neither villages, towns, nor cities
satisfy her divided soul
wandering away her life
will eventually take its toll

Sweet, sweet wanderer
why do you wander so?
will you continue to roam,
even after your body goes?

Omg jl! i love this poem! I wish i could be a wanderer and go wherever i wished...but alas, i am a prisoner of life. One day i will be free though. This poem was beautifully written, one of my favorites:) thx for comments on my poems, keep up the good work!
