Man-Trap

by Dark Kitten   Sep 26, 2005

I look at the world in a very gray light,
As though everything within it has taken my sight.
If the world wants to hit me and start the big fight,
I will stand tall and say, I am not afraid to bite.

The world will throw me down hard,
The windows all around me are barred.
My heart and my soul have all been charred,
I feel as though my entire body has been jarred.

My mind swarms with all that people don't see,
And with everything, everybody wants to be.
Everybody's mind is crammed inside me,
Sometimes I wish I could just flee.

If everyone near me were just like him,
my life would be as complicated as a jungle gym.
He is the reason my life is so dim,
he lies on the outskirts, just on the rim.

If the man were to show himself to you,
you would instantly become blue.
If the man was meant to be here too,
Then nothing would ever be brand new.
