Hurt

Every time you hit me I
get stronger
my skin thickens
my soul darkens

Every time you knock me down
I stand taller
my eyes open
my heart beats stronger

you've hurt me too many times
I've heard the I'm sorries
I've accepted the apologies

Now is my time
I'll walk away my head
held high, my bruises healed
knowing the truth
Love doesn't have to hurt
