The Truth

The skies went dark
your heart went cold
all colours died
when you were told

Food turned to ash
drink went dry
the whole world stopped
and let you cry

Time had no meaning
birds stopped mid-song
as you told yourself
"this must be wrong"

You wished she'd known
your heart had bled
and you never believed
that she was dead...
