Massacre of the heart

by Lady Vengeance   Oct 7, 2005

I see you standing by yourself
a tear falls from your eye
you've lost the one you loved the most
honey, please don't cry

I am always here with you
he wasn't worth a dime
fall upon my shoulder, friend
your heart will heal in time

Your eyes are pools of nothingness
empty as your soul
bleeding out your sorrow
in your heart he left a hole

I am still your loyal friend
I'll pull you to your feet
we'll start in search together
there are others you can meet

You do not need to be with him
smile and carry on
ignore the pain of seeing them
it will not last for long

he was the only one for you
you two were meant to be
and i am just another friend
whom your pain i cannot see

I liked the twist at the end - Although it's hard to determine the tense and perspective of the poem. However, well written.

This had a really good flow to it. You write so many pieces of writings on different topics but always push through the emotion to it.
