THE CRUNGE

by Gary Jurechka   Oct 8, 2005

There's a presence,
like physical graffitti,
and sometimes I'm the rover
singing the wanton song,
and sometimes I'm the fool in the rain
singing the rain song,
and sometimes in the light
I look for the stairway to heaven,
but dazed and confused
I go in through the out door,
and there is no quarter
in the houses of the holy,
and sometimes I just want to go
over the hills and far away
or down by the seaside on a nightflight
or to just awake on a celebration day,
oh, those dancing days,
that's the way I always dreamed it should be,
giving all my love and love returns,
but when the levee breaks
I find ten years gone and
I'm sick again, trampled under foot
lost in the wearing and tearing,
and friends say your time is gonna come,
still I ramble on and how many more times
will it be nobody's fault but mine?
hey hey what can I do,
it's just what is and what should never be,
good times bad times,
the song remains the same.

(Note:This is my variation on 'found poetry'(which I don't really care for) but titles can't be copyrighted and this 'bastardized' version of found poetry is more creative and actually requires some thought and effort, so I did a few pieces using song/album titles of different bands(some worked, some didn't))
