The Tightrope

by Lady Vengeance   Oct 18, 2005

Life is one more road to walk
Another rope to cross
Balance between life and death
Endure another loss

Things don't seem to go your way
People can be cruel
To think that it's an easy ride
You've got to be a fool

Swaying slightly in the breeze
Your tightrope begins to sway
You fight to stay on both your feet
So you'll see another day

You feel it stooping to depression
It then snaps like a band
You're falling into suicide
When someone takes your hand

No one noticed you before
No one seemed to care
But now this stranger holding you
A helping hand will share

They pull you to your feet
And help you mend the rope
Is this someone you call a friend?
Without them you would not cope

They seem to be there in the dark
A first in your black world
Your hidden, broken, twisted mind
Has finally uncurled

Maybe life is not a rope
Upon which you have to walk
A one way ticket to your death
If to you someone will talk.
