Living In Silence

by Cassie Marie   Oct 19, 2005

Life for her
was a nightmare
going home
she could hardly bare

she takes the hits
and cries in silence
she says nothing
about the violence

she hates her father
which whom she fears
staring at the puddle
of broken tears

she hates to see the shame
hidden in her mothers face
how she stays so strong
a fact she cant embrace

she listens to what goes on
the screaming and crying
not even noticing
the cheating and lying

she hides this life
from the kids at school
in front of them
she plays it cool

they have no idea
how bad she has it
or that drinking
is her daddy's bad habit

teachers see
her scars and bruises
though they stay quiet
not to change,is what she chooses

the little boy across the street
See's beyond hr covering lies
he can see this
by her troubled eyes

nobody's seen her
for weeks on end
her daddy didn't go to far
is what they all pretend...
