Glory Fades

by Sean Allen   Oct 21, 2005

It seems so long
since I've gone away,
every minute passing
like the ending of
another day.
Mindless activities,
hopeless proclivity for
all that can stay with me
through the hours of dread:
photographs of feeling that
I spout off the top of my head.
My life is curling,
unfurling, and dropping away;
all the while you say
what I knew you would say:
sic transit gloria.
Well maybe I'm faded,
jaded, and torn today,
but I'll be back;
when I'm back,
I'll be here to stay.

    I liked those lines so much! I can relate to them kind of. The poem was a little short, But it was good. But those lines really brought it all together. It was a great strong ending. Awesome job!! 5/5

    Wow. That was profound. So much relevance. I feel that like, practically everyday but did not know how to get it into words. I love it.

    Great poem! My favorite lines were:
    My life is curling,
    unfurling, and dropping away;
    They really stood out to me. But this is a great poem. 5/5**
