Taking for Granted

by Kayla Sonya Dearing   Nov 2, 2005

Its cold outside
And I'm in a warm house
I have warm clothes
I have warm food to eat

There are people outside right now
Who are freezing
Who don't have warm clothes
Who don't have warm food to eat

Its Christmas day
And I spent it with my family
I had a nice Christmas
But yet I'm sad

I'm sad all because
People are on the street with no family
They don't have a nice place to live
They're not having a nice Christmas

I take for granted
The things I own,
The things I eat,
My family

I hardly stop to think
Think about people who are cold
Who are dying
The kids in foster homes wanting a family

I don't think about people
Who are poor
Who don't have a place to sleep
Who don't have a family

On the day of Jesus brith
I will pray to god
Thanking him of the Christams I had

On Christmas
I shall be grateful on the food I have to eat
I shall be grateful on the clothes I have
I shall be grateful on the gifts I have.

I take things for granted
You take things for granted
We all take things for granted
Please just sit down and pray to god

Thanking him about the things you have
Because there are people out there in the world
Who aren't as lucky as we are.
And who are starving to death.

Please don't take things for granted
On Jesus birth
Please thank god
On everything you have
And please do something nice for someone else.

That was a really good poem. But have you ever stop to think that if you ever did talk to someone who was not as fortunant, they would say to bless everything you have because without it you would be lost?
