The Third Stanza Is What Keeps Me Alive.

I see dry lips slip profane forms of accusation,
I can feel the burn of hate in your firm grip.
I surely smell disgrace seeping through your pores;
But I only hear you when my headphones skip.

I saw the neighbor's shifty eyes through the corner of my own,
I felt the hostile atmosphere as I left my own home.
I'm sure they smelt the fishiness of my suspicious smile,
But Marylin Manson prevented me from hearing the whispers they acquired.

I saw the most beautiful girl, walking right by my side.
I felt the chemistry as our hips coincidentaly collide.
I can't help but take a whiff of perfume that compliments her,
as I share a pair of headphones, just to get a little closer.

I saw you stumble up the stairs to our third floor apartment,
I felt your clammy hands as I pulled you from the carpet.
I could smell the Jack Daniels on your lips, boiling..
And I turned it up just in time to miss the splash in the toilet.

Aint it funny, how three fourths of your day
Seem to be going in every direction -but- your way.
Yet somehow, that simple five minutes with someone special,
can give you millions of reasons to want to live forever.
