Continues to Run

Continues To Run By Brittney Reynolds 11/3/05

The sound of her fee on the pavement
is the only noise outside
All creatues are silent as the night air
not even the cars flying by
make such a loud clatter

She's running on the little energy she has
away from the life she once knew
The pain she once felt leaves her
through all the cut marks on her body
that she inflicted upon herself

Into the silent night
she doesn't look back at what she left
Leaving it all behind her
she has nothing now
She feels the nights solitude engross her

The cold winter air cools her
and the mist of the night chills her bones
Yet she doesn't care
all she wants is her freedom from life
from what she thought she had

Bring the only thing out tonight
the only one roaming the dark secluded streets
the only one breathing intensely
Her shoes meet the ice cold pavement
and she continues on
in her search for the perfect solitude
and that better life

She's not looking back again
Not this time
And she continues to run..
