The People

by Ruthie   Nov 10, 2005

Grey skies, Grey clouds
No one seems to care
Grey hearts, Grey smiles
heavy burdens to bear
Cold air, canâ??t breathe
Whereâ??s the warmth, whereâ??s the sun
Cold faces, cold silence
No one cares for any one
Why was I made for here?
This world of fear and hate
Where they all bemoan and damn
Their cold and dark fate
Their lowered eyes and shuffled steps
I canâ??t get their ways
Humbled, beaten, buried deep
Measured are their days
God, how can this come to me
Why donâ??t they stop and look
See the world theyâ??re all creating
Worse then in my storybook
No, Iâ??m not ignorant, or my soul lost
I know of what I speak
The ultimate cost
In the end, it will end
Then where will they be?
Iâ??ll tell you now, for I know
They are trapped, never free
