THE PROVERBS OF LUCIUS (contimued)

by Gary Jurechka   Nov 10, 2005

PROVERB VIII

There are
no defined dividing lines
for what is absolute
right or wrong,
no clear cut
black and white issues,
there are always exceptions,

there are only variances,

only
shades of gray.

----------------------------------------

Proverb IX

It is the forces from within
that makes you who, what, and
where you are.It is not the
outside forces that control you.

You have the power to change at any time.

Change the world inside you and
the outside one changes also.

-----------------------------------------

PROVERB X

Every day you must be
willing to risk
giving up who you are
to chance becoming
more than you are.

-----------------------------------------

PROVERB XI

Do not be a social chameleon,
for then you will please none,
including yourself.

Be your true self and you
will be dear to those who
accept you for who you are.

---------------------------------------

PROVERB XII

People change and
forget to tell each other.

------------------------------------------

PROVERB XIII

What is perceived
as true today
may not have been so
yesterday, nor may it be
tomorrow, but

right now it is
and that is all
it need be.

------------------------------------------

PROVERB XIV

Religion is not
any denomination or
popular belief,
but a matter of personal
spirituality.

Religion is only a word,
not a meaning.

------------------------------------------

PROVERB XV

There are certain maxims to remind yourself and certain questions
you should ask yourself at various points in your life.
Some of the most important being:

1. Do you own your stuff or does it own you?

2. Would you give up everything you have for everything you always wanted?

3.How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

4.Are you truly existing in this moment, in the now? It's amazing how most of our time is
spent dwelling on the past or the future. You are truly alive and aware when you exist
in the now.The past is not real anymore; the future is not real yet; only the now is real.Exist in this moment, for it is all you have.

5.It is easy to get caught up in the struggle of living.Remember to look at the stars, dance
in the rain, lay on the grass and gaze at the clouds in a blue sky.Look at the simple
yet wondrous things all around us that we take for granted and don't notice, too caught
up in the mundane day to day existence.Always remember to see the world behind things.
Always be truly alive.

------------------------------------------

PROVERBS EPILOGUE

Saying what you mean and
meaning what you say
are not necessarily
the same thing.

And
if I should contradict myself,
it is only because
I am seeing things with
an open mind or
in a different perspective.
