Feelings

Feeling is such an evil word,
It haunts the light of day,
Though seeming absurd, it is still with us,
Dragging behind like a shadow of grey

Feeling may be strong,
It may be certain,
It is the bar that holds a curtain,
Feeling may be fragile,
It may be unsure,
Feeling can cause a tragic ending war

Feeling causes moods,
That have its highs and its lows,
As if it were the wind that blows,
Feeling can change with the flick of a switch,
Leaving you hanging in a ditch

Feeling tears open old wounds,
The ones you've tried to forget,
They're back to ruin the life,
You've so longingly set

Feeling expresses what's under the bonnet,
Other that the engine and metal,
Feeling shows inner beauty,
Similar to a red rose petal

Feeling, no matter how big or small,
Is there on every occasion we call,
Feeling that comes between us,
The ones we love, the ones we hold
