Trapped

by master of shadow   Nov 18, 2005

Shouting, yelling, hate,
the fighting, pain and blood,
this house's curse,
the way we can't all get on,
they're fighting again,
I hide away,
shouting,
yelling,
hitting,
I can't take this anymore,
cannot watch this,
watch my family destroy one another,
had enough,
so I leave,
walk out the door,
at the edge of town i look back,
over the silence town,
toward the calm sea,
from here no one could tell,
tell what lies in that house,
see the pain and suffering,
know of that hell,
as I turn away,
a thought comes over me,
"I escaped",
but what now?
I have no where to go,
I take one last look,
look toward freedom,
down the long silent road,
over the empty wasteland,
as barren and empty as i feel,
I long to walk over it,
ti leave this place,
but I cannot,
I have to go back,
nowhere else to go,
but for now I'll stay here,
and imagine I could leave,
imagine that I could be free.

Good poem. I often have that thouht " What if i would go" Leave and go somewhere else. And I realise, that I can't just go away, but just thinking of what I might be able to do, relaxes me sometimes. Nice poem. Excellent. And also thanks for your comment.

Wow, this is relatable for a lot of people, you can touch people deeply with this one.
I think you did an amazing job, transforming emotion in to words. The beauty is indeed not lossed.
