Welcome Home

by Hilary   Nov 19, 2005

Please, don't cry, even though
I had to leave your side...
I'll always be deep within you
If you'd only close your eyes...
This was the plan for me, mommy
From the day I was conceived
God knew that my presence would be short
For soon I'd have to leave...
But He gave me just enough time
To touch so many deep within their hearts
And I know that I'll be remembered
Even though we are apart...
Please listen to the doctors
When they say I felt no pain;
Their words are honest, mommy
God took it all away...
I see you underneath the clouds
Smiling back up at me...
Deep down you know, mommy
That this was how it was meant to be...
I'll guard you from the Heavens
While you live a life below...
Honored in memories of my heartbeat
Cared for in a way I'll always know...
On those nights that you feel lost
I'll ask God to hold you close...
For He knows how much you miss me
Oh, he knows I love you the most...
I won't be far away forever
So please don't think I am alone...
No, mommy, I'll see you again
When God and I can whisper...
"Welcome Home."
