Running

by Unseen Exposure   Nov 20, 2005

Today I don't really feel like breathing
That's alright, well I'll just choke
I'll take a break from hated reality
And I'll let my imagination soak

These standards I've set aren't worthy
Accomplishment is such a big task
It rips away my confidence
That lightly lingers behind my mask

So what if I bleed like you?
My blood's a million time's thinner
You thought you saw it run a mile?
Well my black blood declared the winner

Bring me my riches, deny me the pain
I don't want to feel this anymore
Rejection, hatred, impurity, denial
My body aches, my bones are sore

You thought you saw me coming
So you turned around and ran
Thought you were getting away from me
You're a pathetic excuse for a man

Face me now and hear these words
Admit to the pain you've caused
Raise your hand, take the punch
We all know you staged the applause.
