Broken Friendship

Broken Friendship

I had a lot of friends,
But this one had stuck out,
I thought I knew how this would end,
And that's when I began to doubt.

We hung out on every Sunday,
Going there and doing this,
Then, on the weekdays, we'd go our ways,
This friendship had had a heavenly bliss.

Then I began to see the truth,
I began to see me through your eyes,
To figure it out, it didn't take a sleuth,
That our friendship was based on lies.

I decided to leave you alone,
And find out which path I must choose,
That is when it was me you'd disown,
Now on my heart is a big, black bruise.

Over this broken friendship I will grieve,
This is something I will always live with
But I think it was a great decision to leave,
Now with my future, I must go forthwith.

Please comment, I would really like to know how I do on my poems.
