You Killed Her Before She Had Died

The pain she had felt
The tears she had shed
Only you knew her,
The heart that had bled.

You went out with another
To her you had lied
When she heard the truth
For you she had cried.

When you held her, she knew
Only for you did she care,
But she had taken the dose
For her heart did you tear.

You held her in your arms,
While her life slid away
Without time for regret,
You screamed to her stay.

But now in her grave she lay.

The cause you denied,
Then in regret you cried
There is nothing to hide,
You killed her before she had died.
