We Would Last Forever

by David Paul   Dec 1, 2005

You know as well as I do,
We can't just be friends,
There's more than that between us,
That will never come to an end.

Plenty of times I've wanted to say,
Either take me whole or none at all,
But that involves risking the none,
And that's something I don't want at all.

My heart still beats when we embrace,
At an alarming speed and unsteady pace,
And it's only a hug that brings me pain,
But I welcome anything from you all the same.

I miss your kiss when we stare at each other,
The feeling of contentment we gave one another,
Our pure relationship we had together,
And thoughts that we would last forever.

I feel as well as you do,
"I wish she would kiss me,"
After gazing in your eyes,
Basking in your beauty.

It hurts to say I love you,
It did even from the start,
The only thing I ask you,
I please don't re break my heart.
