Drowning (Part I)

by Matters   Dec 1, 2005

To think about it's one thing,
Then to relive the memory,
Going back to the beginning,
To face your agony.

But then you just can't hide it,
The secrets of that day,
The lies behind the truth,
The lives that drift away.

So you try to disappear,
Commit a suicide,
You look below the scars,
You know you couldn't die.

Your escape just fails again,
You know what's right to do,
It's time to face the waves,
Look in the eyes of blue.

You'll try to love again,
Become a healing soul,
But you have more than a long time,
To make your spirit whole.

It's more than just a memory,
Yet smaller than a death,
Half submerged and lifeless,
Yet breathing staggered breaths.

So however hard it is,
There's still a life to gain,
Look back into the past,
It's time to face your pain.

This is just part one of a really long epic poem. It may take a while to complete and submit them all, so if you like it, you might have to be patient. Votes and comments always appreciated and will be returned most likely a.s.a.p.
