Silent Beauty

by Sylvia   Dec 2, 2005

Frail and fragile, the snowflakes fall silently,
Like the rooms above where sleeping children lay.
Born from the dazzling diamonds in the heavens,
Which ponder with us each season with no worry.
Glazing the ground with beauty, the purity of its innocence.
Behold the moment of the hidden goddess of peace,
She places her large blanket upon the earth with gentle hands.
Hush and hush the world into a slumber with her glowing star.
She keeps us safe and warm within her arms of night.
Violet skies, a canopy above and a white mattress below.
Her eyes glow bright lights of different shades,
Peeking through windows, decorated in ornaments.
Her voice within the carolers that stand in the cold,
Their hums piercing our ears with delicate sound of angels.
Her touch is frozen that is carried by with the wind,
Brisk and shivered by the north, her home.
By morning, she stays awake in time to shine.
Her mattress sparkles and glistens with joy and smiles.
Sweetly, the frost begins to travel on and blossoms appear.
Fragrance of rebirth and life appears once again.
The Goddess of Spring moves about the evergreen,
Chasing away her sister that has us humble in our hearts;
The Goddess of Winter, The Silent Beauty.
