Sweet Serenity

by Kim   Dec 4, 2005

I look into your eyes and watch the colors flying by
You're in a land where no human can follow.
The paler that you grow, the happier you seem to be
And I'm glad in these moments you find serenity.

If only I hadn't let myself
Be seduced by the tantalizing lies and the easier way.
It's hard to admit your wrong, my pride is my destruction.
And as you fade I touch your face determined not to hide.
But inside I know, I've begun my own slow suicide.

The shadows of the softess night stole into my dreams.
And I sucumbed to the comfort of security.
I let myself push you away, I did it with my own voice.
I left you alone, defenseless, torn and it was I who made the choice.

Too late have I found my way out of this web of deceit and pride.
My spirit spirals towards the moon, while you lie still in my arms.
I profess my undying love to eyes that no longer see
And I weep for you now in the embrace of sweet Serenity.
