I Love Thee To The Bones

by Hello Life   Dec 5, 2005

I love thee to the bones
beauty is just skin deep
but we all know that beauty
seldom comes cheap
the skin can become so ugly
when covering whatever fat
that you alone can see and pick
funny, nobody else can see that
a bloated face in a mirror
a quick glance in a window
your reflection in the knife
tells what you already know
everyone but you
can see your pain
and they will rally to you
always and again
it feels so comfortable
to crave that snack
but you know one bite
and you won't go back
you can binge
and throw it up again
but you can't lose that inner pain
far better and far easier
to just never eat
than risk overindulgence
on a bitesize treat
get up so early and exercise
until you're red in the face
but however toned you can get
you still take up too much space
you know that you're helpless friends
can listen to your sobbing moans
but you just sit in front of the mirror
remember
i love thee to the bones
