Hiding From The Conformists

by Amanda   Dec 5, 2005

Will you please let me be
Who I am
Instead of pushing me down
When I try to stand

I finally get to the point
Where it feels like Im living
It may not seem apparent
How much effort im giving

I try to do the right thing
But I guess its wrong
Im stupid and immature because
I havent been this way for long

I guess its too bad I act myself
Instead of choosing to conform
I just dont find it interesting
To be a part of the norm

Does it make you feel better
By putting me down
Not having your permission to be happy
My smiles are turned into frowns

Im sorry Im not an a s s hole
And judge people just like you
I can tell that you cant see it
But I have feelings, too
