Drowning (Part II)

by Matters   Dec 8, 2005

Here it is. Part two.

You sat upon the dampness,
Perched upon a rock,
Looking out into the mist,
Past the withered dock.

Focused on the white caps,
Entranced in silent stare,
Eyes look at horizons,
Yet nothing appears there.

Penetrating the reigns of cloud,
Now looking at the sky,
You release the words out loud,
The screaming in your cry.

"All I see in water,
Is death and death alone,
No one sees inside me,
Or hears his dying moan.

They say it isn't my fault,
But I know it really is,
Didn't when he grabbed by hand,
I let go of his?"

So you lie upon the planks,
And stare into the ocean,
But deep inside the placid,
Are eruptions of emotion.

You think it's time to end it,
Life can wait a day,
Yet deep inside you know,
'I'll never runaway.'
