Drowning (Part III)

by Matters   Dec 9, 2005

So you're stuck inside your shadow,
A time of loss of life,
The shot without the gun,
A stab without the knife.

However much you're trying,
To hold the secrets in,
You know it doesn't matter,
Its weighing down your sin.

So recollect the memory,
It's time to face it all,
The water tells its story,
And the truth begins to fall.

When they come for answers,
As you lie, a twisted knot,
You'll know that you were honest,
And nothing was 'forgot.'

You said to self again,
"I tried to not let go,
He saved me from the depth,
I killed him, as you know.

I tried so hard to save him,
But there was to be saved,
So I let him go, forever,
And he went beneath the waves."

Never looking up,
Always looking down.
So here is the sad tale,
A story of the drowned.
