Standing In The Rain Again,

by Gary Jurechka   Dec 13, 2005

And I just can't understand
how I can smile with
all these tears in my eyes
and say to you, it will all be okay,

but no matter how hard I try,
I just can't tell you good-bye,
I just can't say good-bye.........

I very much liked the way you expressed the mix of emotions which are bound to the unfortunate end of this love. Smiling and laughing seems for me an absolutely great contrast to crying and tears in such a way all the things we do when a relationship breaks down, we cry on our own and love and smile in public. The simplicity of the structure of your poem gives your words much more intensity and especially the last two verses stand still in the room and animate the reader to remember senses who everyone felt before . And that's exactly , I think, what makes a good poem, it should touch people deeply in the heart and animate them to think about the work for a while.
    Again, a great work.

    Lots of love
