A Smile That Will Remain.

by Void   Dec 18, 2005

Masking deepest sorrows
With a smile so abrupt
Laughing doesn't heal pain,
It merely covers it up.
Concealing the feelings
That are hidden in the heart
Is the burden we all carry,
that tears us all apart.
Blinding truth from all around
Create an illusion to live by.
Fooling everyone else,
But not believing our own lie.
Thinking it shows strength,
To push aside with power.
But to hide within yourself
Is just a way to cowar.
So what exactly is it,
That makes a person strong?
...Letting free their weakness
By singing their painful song?
Maybe one day I'll sing,
The secrets of my life.
But for now, no matter how weak,
I'll keep this smile alive.
