Good Old Days

by Hello Life   Dec 20, 2005

Remember the younger you
And how your dream life was mapped
First love was true love, forever free
And now how you feel so trapped

How a rush of tears or a cold harsh knife
Is now what takes your pain
Because you know a mother's kiss and cuddle
Will never help again

When you used to cry from a scratch on your knee
And wish your skin would not bleed
How strange that now the scars in skin
Are what so many need

I used to feel so comfortable in my skin
But now I hate all that I see
Forget the present and the future, remember the good old days
When it was all about me loving me

The second verse brings up a good point. Loved the whole poem.
