Artist

by Kim   Dec 21, 2005

Crystallized drops of blood fall
Landing in a perfect arrangement at my feet
Making patterns that twine down my arms
Reminding me of you
Each slice I make, my heart cries,
Not for the pain
But for the agony you put me through
Like a master carver you delicatly shaped my soul
Until there was nothing left
So that when you left i would die
An artist at work, arranging the perfect strokes
The silver blade caresses my wrists
And as the essence spirals out of my body
I have to smile.
You were the one who showed me this art
And as my body collapses, I know my heart
Was already gone, torn out by you.
This precious bit of sanity is my last thought
As I finally die by my own blade.
You loved me so you killed me
My last glimpse of life is your smile and your eyes
As you take the knife from me,
And walk away.

Very nice poem Kim. Really deep and dark. The words bring out some really intense images. It's like a murder scene. Really good poem. I really love your stuff.
