Mirror

As i looked into the mirror,
I saw a broken girl,
Who had lost it all,
Who was lost in her own world.

I thought to myself,
What had happened that made her so sad,
Just looking at her,
Made me feel pathetic & mad.

She had it all,
She had the love of her life,
But he made a choice,
It was the marines instead of a wife.

His choice was unexpected,
Unwanted to know,
It made her cry,
It made her let go.

As i looked into her eyes,
Hope & fear fleeted away,
She gave it all she got,
But ended up without any knowledge to find a new way.

Everyday of my life,
I take a look into the mirror & see,
That this suffering girl,
Is only the reflection of me.
